OnePlus 6T: What to Expect?

An improved version of OnePlus 6, which will be retailed as OnePlus 6T is expected to hit the market in the Q4 2018. The upcoming OnePlus device is more likely to be equipped with some latest high-end specs coupled with some design overhaul. 

OnePlus has already confirmed to launch an improved version of its latest released flagship smartphone, OnePlus 6, which was launched in June 2018. The new improved version, OnePlus 6T, is rumoured to have a couple of design improvements coupled with some new features. It would be brand’s third ‘T’ version, after OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5T.

OnePlus 6T Release Date

Setting a release date of a smartphone has become one of the crucial factors to determine its success. Big smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung and Apple have been consistent with their product launches. Similarly, OnePlus has been consistent in bringing its flagship killer device by the mid of the year and its improved version by the end of the same year, around November. This happened with OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5.

This year, 2018 is no different. The company has plans to unveil its new upgraded version of the OnePlus 6 in January. As per a report published, the smartphone manufacturer has announced an event on January 15, 2019. We are expecting it to be the launch day of the OnePlus 6T. However, nothing is confirmed as of now.    

OnePlus 6T Expected Price

Talking about the pricing of the OnePlus devices, they have always been almost half the price of other brands’ flagship smartphones. This year, too, OnePlus will fix the price of its upcoming device on the similar trend. A listing on the comparison site Tiger Mobiles which has now been removed showed the OnePlus 6T priced at $590. 

OnePlus 6T Specs

OnePlus brand has arrived in the market with a tagline, flagship killer. This year, the company has launched OnePlus 6 with some great high-end specs. Similar or improved spec sheet is expected in the OnePlus 6T as well. 

Design-wise, the phone is more likely to have a share of glass body and metal edges. The frontal side of the phone will be all display. Several reports have claimed that the OnePlus 6T will flaunt a water drop notch style display. Similar notch has been spotted on the Vivo V11 Pro.

To improve the overall smartphone experience and lag free performance, the upcoming device will be equipped with Snapdragon latest and most advanced chipset. Two variants of RAM – 6GB and 8GB are expected too. With Samsung and Apple introducing 512GB internal storage smartphone, OnePlus might bring a variant with similar storage space.  

The OnePlus 6T will also flaunt a dual rear camera setup with upgraded camera configurations to capture finest pictures in almost every lighting environment. On the front, a single selfie camera lens is expected. 

OnePlus 6 Vs OnePlus 6T: What’s New?

This year, OnePlus is more likely to bring a seriously improved version of the already launched smartphone, OnePlus 6. Rumours have suggested that the next ‘T’ model of the company would be almost difference of its normal version. A couple of leaks have shared that the OnePlus 6T smartphone will not a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The same information has been  confirmed by the OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei. This is the right time to remove the jack, shares Pei. 

Another major difference between the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T would be of fingerprint scanner. In OnePlus 6T, the brand will fit an in-display fingerprint scanner. The June released model has a physical fingerprint scanner at the back of the device under the dual rear camera setup.  

Improved battery life is the next priority of the company. The brand is committed to pack a set of battery to deliver optimised performance accompanied with long lasting battery life. It is expected that OnePlus might add the wireless charging feature to the OnePlus 6T.  Despite having a glass back, the brand has not fit-in wireless charging capability chip under the hood.  

The exact details and specs of the phone is still under wraps. However, it is expected that the company will bring something new and advanced of its original model this time. A couple of expected features such as in-display fingerprint scanner, no headphone jack and 512GB storage variant have made the next ‘T’ variant one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year.
