George Washington's Mount Vernon
George Washington’s Mount Vernon is the historic home of George and Martha Washington, located 13 miles south of Washington, DC. Guests can see the historic mansion, stately rooms, and outbuildings preserved to the year 1799, the last year of George Washington’s life. Owned and operated by the Mount Vernon Ladies Association, George Washington’s Mount Vernon has been visited by world leaders since its opening to the public in the 1860s . In addition to the mansion, one can visit our beautiful gardens, a working farm engaged in 18th century agriculture, two museums, heritage breed animals, and the most majestic view across the Potomac River. We also welcome guests to dine at our Mount Vernon Inn or grab a meal at our Food Court Pavilion.
