PRODUCT OF SUN,SOIL AND SINCERITY Instagram Facebook YouTube 青空が広がるこの山に、葡萄畑が開かれたのは昭和33年。その葡萄畑の麓にこころみ学園が設立されたのは昭和44年、ココ･ファーム･ワイナリーができたのは昭和55年。 おかげさまで、今年、葡萄畑は開墾64年目を、1984年からはじまったワインづくりは､39年目を迎えることができました。 今、こころみ学園の園生たちは、いつか皆様に会える日を楽しみに葡萄畑で醸造場でがんばっています。 これからも皆さまのお力添えをどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。 ココの仕事 ココ･ファーム･ワイナリーの東の急斜面の葡萄畑は、1958年、当時の足利市立第三中学校職実クラスの中学生たちとその担任教師・川田昇(かわたのぼる1920年12月18日－2010年12月17日)によって開墾されました。現在は、こころみ学園の葡萄畑として、ココ・ファーム・ワイナリーのワイン用原料葡萄を育てています。 この葡萄畑は平均斜度38度。上の方は42度という急斜面です。なぜこんな山奥の急斜面に葡萄畑を開墾したのか？ それは、一介の教師には平らな土地を手に入れることができず、山奥の急斜面を開墾するしかなかったからでした。しかし実は、この葡萄畑は、南西向きで陽あたりがよく、急斜面のため水はけもよく、葡萄にとってはなかなか良い条件でした。ジュラ紀の地層であったことや、松が自生するようなどちらかというと貧しい土壌であったことも、葡萄がしっかり実を付けるために大事なことでした。 また、この急斜面は葡萄の生育によいだけでなく、障害があるため必要以上に過保護にされ、あてにされることもなかった子どもたちの心身を鍛えるためにも重要な役割を果たしてきました。 葡萄畑の南側から草を刈りだして、葡萄畑の北側が刈り終わる頃には、また南側の草が茂ってきます。また南側から草を刈りだして、葡萄畑の北側が刈り終わる頃には、またまた南側の草が茂ってくる・・・。そんな繰り返しをいとわずにやってきた子どもたちのおかげで、この葡萄畑には、除草剤を撒いたことがありません。 除草剤を撒かない葡萄畑には、いろいろな草花が茂り、その草花にはたくさんの虫が集まってきます。たくさんの虫が集まってくると、その虫を求めてたくさんの鳥たちがやってきます。そうするとその鳥を追い払うために、朝から晩までカンをたたくという仕事がうまれます。 葡萄畑や醸造場での仕事は、365日やってもやってもやり尽くせないような仕事です。無心に土に向き合い、葡萄や微生物の声に耳を傾ける毎日。自然のなかで、大変だけれども「働くことが喜び」でもあった毎日。 この貴重な仕事を続けることができますのも、ひとえにお支えくださる皆さまのおかげです。心から御礼申し上げます。これからもみんなで助け合いながら、仲よく明るくひたむきに、美味しいワインをつくっていきたいと思います。 末永くどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。 こころみ学園 ココ・ファーム・ワイナリー COCO FARM & WINERY short movie English Ver. ワイナリーからのお知らせ 夏を楽しむスパークリング・フェスタ 投稿: 2022年6月22日 夏を楽しむスパークリング・フェスタ2022年7月7日(木・七夕)～8月15日(月) Cafe ★夏の葡萄畑を眺めながら泡のワインをグラスで、特別価格で、お楽しみいただけます ｢ルビーの泡｣1 glass￥80 […] 第39回収穫祭 投稿: 2022年6月2日 今年は現地で開催予定！ 第39回収穫祭 日 時：2022年11月19日(土)・20日(日) 雨天決行 ...
