Firefox was an operating system for smartphone, tablet, computers and smart tv. It was developed by Mozilla and released in February 2013. Firefox os was a free and open source operating system. Firefox operating system was designed to provide a community based operating system. Firefox operating system was written in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and C++. Firefox OS also has a large bunch of preinstalled applications.
On December 2015 Mozilla announced that they are stopping the development of new Firefox smartphones. Firefox OS was discontinued and now it is not available for users but there are many alternative operating systems are available that you can use.
