HipChat was a web service and application for instant messaging and private chatting. HipChat was founded by Chris Rivers, Garret Heaton, and Pete Curley and launched in 2010. HipChat was acquired by Atlassian in 2012.
HipChat is based on cloud storage technology that stores your all data like chatting, searchable message-history and inline-image viewing. HipChat was compatible with all modern devices like Mac, Linux, Windows, Android, iOS + Web-based application.
Users can connect with their family and friends with HipChat. Businessman and professionals can also use HipChat for connecting with their employees. HipChat can store 5 GB of data online with cloud-based technology.
HipChat also had a premium version with extra features like video calling, screen sharing, unlimited file storage, and history retention controls. On September 7, 2017, Atlassian discontinued HipChat.
