The Longest Journey is a point-and-click adventure video game developed by Norwegian studio Funcom for Microsoft Windows and released in 1999. Later, an iOS version for the game was released on October 28, 2014.
The Longest Journey is the game where the player interacts with objects on the screen to solve puzzles and develop the story. The game features expansive recorded dialogue most of which is non-essential to completing the game but adds to the setting.
The game takes place in the parallel worlds of magic-dominated Arcadia and industrial Stark. The protagonist, April Ryan, is an 18-year-old art scholar living in Stark, classified as a ‘Shifter’ proficient of movement between these worlds, and tasked with rebuilding their essential Balance.
